The intense cocoa pleasure of our extra-dark Ecuador chocolate refined with candied ginger. An excitingly aromatic, sweet-spicy indulgence.

Our cacao beans come from the province of Guayas in Ecuador, a country with a cacao cultivation tradition spanning over 5,000 years. Exports of cacao beans began as early as 1830, and cacao was the first product ever exported from Ecuador. The organically certified cacao is grown by various producer groups who gain stable sales markets for their harvest through this certification. The farmers benefit from technical support, microcredits, and improved post-harvest processes.

The cacao is fermented in wooden boxes for 5 to 7 days and then dried on cement surfaces or wooden tables. Special care is given to preserving the traditional Nacional genetics that make the cacao unique.

The candied organic ginger cubes have a fine coating of powdered sugar and are sweet and spicy-sharp at the same time.
